I went out for a day and gave a hand to set up a bit, went for a spin around a few of the tracks to test them out.
Rick was in a VX cruiser and we also had a LWB hi top safari as well which went around with us undamaged, long story short the organizers have done a good job of setting it up to be a challenge that can be completed by club trucks.
Winning team is not just about best trucks and fastest times, this is a "Teams" event, best "Team" wins :P
If you have a group of three trucks and want to have a great weekend out get into this one :!: opportunities of an event like this are pretty rare these days and if it doesn't get supported they won't happen in the future
I have to work the nights that it's on, however i'll be there during the days helping out, and if I get a shift change or two, i'll be there at night.....drinking tea of course
So get a team entered, ya still have time :!:

Entered & paid, no backing out now.

Good to hear the club truck comment, was a bit worried that we'd be getting a heap of DNF's cause I didn't want to trash my truck.

Looking forward to it.

Looks like a good event but as they are points for "speed" this could be deemed a race by your insurance company so you might not be covered should you something go wrong.

Not only are there points for speed, there's also "observation" counted big time, for example......"what number was on the tree with 'blah, blah"
once again, best team will win the event not fastest time.
check with you're insurance company if you're unsure :P

Each individuals insurance cover will differ, most entering any type of event should check there cover if they intend entering.

It is a fun event, don't push to hard and it will be as stated FUN.

Well put Bob.

I'm into a bit of fun for that weekend. (God knows i need it)
With any luck I'll enter my VX and get a couple of others who are keen for a laugh to come.
I'd say, we don't care about the "not winning". This event looks like a good time. I'd look forward to mucking in with the rest of you guys. :D

Thats why its a team event - pick 2 mates who can recover you to a handy roadside ditch.... ....honest officer, I sneezed, then this cow came out of nowhere, then there was this enormous wild boar on a harley with a monkey in the sidecar....

I had a.....hmmmm.....good weekend, well sort of, was really good to be involved as a marshal, however....
I was itching to jump in and blast off all weekend, but competing isn't really my scene :( I had a few skids around while waiting for teams 8)
After Bob and I packed up in cust it was pitch black before I loaded up the hilux and headed to prize giving in Oxford, (I missed the first half) I was eating as everyone else was leaving  marshals jobs aren't cool, but very necessary :?
i will post a few pics before long, I hope those who competed enjoyed the weekend.
Seen some real good team work......and some of the usual yelling

Yeah we got that Tim. :D

You and Bob did a good job looking after stages 11 n 12. Well done.
It's the first time we've marshalled. Was boring most of the time but fun too. It was good to be a part of it.

Well done to Rick and all his helpers in getting this event organised.

Pete.

X2 My 1st event, really excellent fun. Excellent course setting - super trucks only had slight advantage over supermarket trolleys, all about the teamwork. Some marshals were more open to chocolate biscuit bribery than others tho
