I fitted a lockrite to Chairmans V6 Vitara. Even though the instructions said it would fit, it didn't. The side washers were to thick for the V6 side gears so we had to get some laser cut at the right thickness.

To fit an rear air locker in a GV (1998-2005) you need to use a Vitara 3rd member and axles if required according to ARB. Supposedly its the same for the front but I just modified my housing and axles to suit when I fitted my air locker. You might be able to do the same with the rear.

Hey churchill, I was out with clay in the weekend and it was seeing both his rear wheels turning in the same direction which made we want one.

Thanks for the info below, thats bit of a worry that i cant get a lockright or ARB locker without changing a heap of drive gear.

I've seen plenty of open diff Vits where both the rear wheels turn in the same direction, happens most days while I drive around

No worries Clay, there's nothing like a bit of detective work to keep the brain alive... I'm looking forward to heading out with you guys, all going well it should be sometime this year!

Good to hear the lockers doing it's job well, it should make a hell of a difference.

Inkedgeek, is your truck a daily driver or can it stand being off the road for a while?

If you get the diff out I can put the lockrite in it. You'll just need to pay for any spacers etc, It'll cost a bottle of Johnnie Walker red. I'll reset the pinion preload and side bearing preload, set the backlash and check the mesh. How many km's has you truck done?

Let me know if your keen.

Very keen mate, problem at the moment is lock is there doesn't seem to be a lock right for my 2001 (reg in 2002 I just realised) GV , only for the 1999-2000 model

Of course. Talk to Sheflie from Te Puke Parts World, he'll know if there are any differences.

What ratio diffs do you have?
