Weapon for sale

Re: Weapon for sale
I'm tempted to start stripping it back to a A Class truck, as i have had absolutly no interest in its current form. It's just way to expensive for a toy I guess.
So up for grabs would be the following:
OME 50mm lifted front springs $200
OME 50mm lifted H/D rear springs $200
Cargo barrier $20
Winch $300
Soft top Windscreen, mint rust free, $200
ARB Air Locker, front diff , complete in diff head ready to bolt in $1000
ARB Air Locker, rear diff, complete in diff head ready to bolt in $1000
ARB Air Compressor complete with ARB tyre inflation kit, full ARB wiring loom, switches mounting plates and other hard ware $250
I would really like to sell the lockers as a kit ready to go, they are all mounted and correctly set up in the diff heads ready to go, same with the compressor and wiring loom. If they went as a kit, $2000 would cover it.
Then the truck could go for $5000

It's definitely a good truck and well worth the money if that's what you are looking for but not many people are after something like that without wof or Reg. Would you not be better putting your time into certing and warranting it rather than stripping all the good bits off?
Without all the goodies and no wof and reg would it really be worth 5? I would personally pay that if it was legal but the people who are looking for something to trailer aren't to worried how tidy it is and then its just a well maintained trailered suzi with a good engine. I would have thought closer to three.
At the end of the day opinions are like ass holes and I'm sure some people will disagree with mine haha

fair call. "A" class truck means its elligable for National trials comp (mainly north island competitors) A class being production class - standard running gear, suspension, full body (below windscreen) 4 cyl. Its my old truck I bought built how it was, and it was competitive in that class.
National trials is a great comp and A/B class is the entry level. Unless you are capable of building a good cage and following the rules, $5k is a cheap price to get into that particular "version" of 4wding . Check trademe for the top c and d class truck prices.
But yes to average Joe, that would seem a big price for a non road legal truck
Re: Weapon for sale
For $5000 you get:
Tidy Sj413 with no rust
Virtual lift to clear 31's
Rear disc conversion
Power steering conversion
M & H vinyl Race seats
5 point leaver lock harnesses
Fire extinguishers
Cowper built roll cage to meet Nationals Trials standards, powder coated
Cowper built full external bar work also powder coated
Toyota Twin Cam, EFI 1600, 4a-fe from a Levin, Corolla gearbox.
Engine conversion fitted by the Cowper work shop
Low ratio 4.1 transfer case gear set
Calmini heavy duty transfer case mounting kit
15 x 8 steel rims, with flipped centers for maximum offset also powder coated
31x10.5 Federal Couragia tyres in good condition with heavy duty tubes and dump valves
Rancho shocks
Stock springs as per rules
Recently the engine has had a new cam belt and associated seals and bearings, plugs, leads and the hell beast heavy duty radiator.
As you would expect from me, it's all nice and clean and tidy and well looked after!!!
The reason for parting it out is there is no longer a class for it in Winch Challenges, these things a frikken horrible to drive on the road so no idea why everyone is obsessed with it being road legal, and once back in A Class trim, if it doesn't sell, I can actually compete in it again!!!
Do the math, it's a 10k + build price if you had to pay some one to do it for you

Re: Weapon for sale
I have looked at this on trademe for a long time and wished I could afford it. Coming from a Suzuki backround and knowing what they can do standard it would be awesome to get a Suzuki with Air Locker.
How comes this doesnt have a Winch class anymore?
Curious as if I ever build a winch challenege truck then it will be based on a SJ
