NZTA Details
Safer Journeys

Neither are the most exciting reads but do provide background and future plans/proposals. The conspiracy theorist in me is preparing to have to fight for 4x4 rights like in Oz. "Safer" vehicles on the road is the plan.... bull bars, sliders are safe... yes? There was discussion a couple of years ago about having 4x4 mud tyres require deeper min tyre depths but seems to have dropped away.

Suspension and exhaust testing proposals which may end in in WoF inspections is one that I am keen to keep an eye on. A lot of other alterations/updates sliding through under the radar which will impact all road users. Well worth keeping threads like this popping up and informing all of us... Well done TJ

We have moved from Perth WA and I fear your comment about 4x4er's fighting the government here like in OZ may fall on deaf ears!
In Australia 4x4ing is an Industry that stands on it's own feet, if you go to a 4x4 show there are literally hundreds of marques up with business selling 4x4 accessories, camping gear, portable fridges, awnings, rooftop tents, long range fuel tanks, winches, fishing gear etc etc, They are bigger than the boat show in Auckland!
4x4 action mag has 10's of thousands of followers and subscribers alone and through the mag the people are heard loud and clear when lobbying the federal or state governments!
NZ 4x4er's need a single loud voice to get the message through
Cheers
John
