have you got the replacement parts sorted?
do you know if it still has original clutch?
if you replace it with original dual mass type clutch its something like $2k for the clutch set. cheaper and more reliable to convert it to single mass. need hilux flywheel and a different pressure plate. specs are on surf site.

Did they all come out with dual mass on the 2.4s? I'm sure there was factory solid flywheel ones. :?:

all 2lt are dual mass afaik. but i think 2l are single mass but clutch is a bit of a different size.

when i build the old surf 2lt motor out someone had fitted what i think is a 2l clutch setup. but there was a mismatch in size and it was stuffed.

8)
only thing is sometimes they make a bit more noise and vibration at idle.
the dual mass is there to dampen noise and vibration.

Well had single mass done cost was $890 cheaper than first quote not bad on noise but seems lighter on the clutch pedal don't have to stomp on it 10 points for handling works great an heaps of grab
