Winch comp track setting

Post by Jungle »

This nice pic was yesterday in mamaku. We were up setting tracks for the winch comp on July 9 10 11th of July. This area was used for one stage last year and then for the barbecue before the night stage. As you can see its been raining in mamaku.

The cruiser owner clipped a bank on the right hand side of the pic descending a small hill. Flipped the truck almost back on its wheels.

Luckily he lives in mamaku and we didn't have to tow him far.

Might be a couple of weeks before we see him again.

p.p Has anyone got a BJ74 windcsreen surround and glass for sale.

Cheers

Feel free to use any photo's I put up mike.

We had to bury a bit of his engine oil.
He was off on his own when he rolled it and it sat there for a while on its side quietly draining the sump oil out the breather.

His next investment will be a radio and a roll bar.

Winch Challenge

Post by Kent »

Hi jungle

Whats the story with the winch challenge, is it a competition that we can come and watch or is it a club event.

I really should have put up an entry form.

Its open to all comers. Its running Dennys rules and regs.

i.e Roll bars and harnesses.

We can run upto 18 trucks. Entry fee is only $120 which is incredibly cheap. I think we still have room for a couple of entries. It runs Friday Saturday and Sunday. We are running Sunday in a local Pumice Quarry close to Rotorua town and this will be open to the public. All other stages are competitors and supporters only. Although we are also after marshalls and so forth for help.

If you have some interest please ring Sam Baddeley on 0272943601. Sam is the event organiser and is also entered in the event.

It is a fun event. I think most of the top NZ winch trucks will be there.
Including Bruce Hughes.
