took my MU in for a warrant and it failed on a number of things. mostly little wear and tear things but the biggee is a leak in the power steering.
its leaking where the shaft from the steering wheel enters the steering box.
I am having a few issues tracking down a seal for this and was wondering if anyone had done one or could point me in the right direction to track one down. Repco don't supply them and BNT don't supply them (they did used to do a kit)
I know most people in this situation usually just replace the steering box but thats not really an option at this point. a second hand one if you can get it is a bit beyond my budget

Re: power steering leak
I did this seal on a bighorn a few years ago. I'm not sure if they're the same but here's some instructions on how to do it.
http://shazamportal.com/clubisuzu.com/v ... 7f71bbaea4
The seal i used for the bighorn is a TC12447, or 22mm outside diameter, 35mm inside diameter, and 7mm thick.
You can replace the seal without having to take the box out.

Re: power steering leak
sold my truck in the weekend.
so, a basic run down for anyone else who has this issue:
sourcing the seals for an Isuzu MU steering box - Isuzu only sell them as part of a kit. air flo hydraulics have the best price I could find. so for anyone in the future looking for these kits, go here: http://www.airflohydraulics.co.nz
otherwise remove the seal as intact as you can, go to a bearing specialist and they should have something that will work
there are some great instructions in the above post. some mechanics recommend actually removing the steering box. it is easiest to access it by removing the front left wheel and the rubber matting inside the wheel arch
