Dont go over 20 on the standard turbo. it won't handle it. and if it isn't a facelift get an intercooler on it and remove the EGR asap....but i suspect if its running that much boost some one has already atleast disabled the EGR.

yes thought the same... was one lady owner from new and only highway driving to and from work.. thanks for your help guys and how easy is it to remove the erg? any parts needed or is it just a simple job? truck is just on at's etc at the moment but got some 33 mudders on the way and trucks getting jacked at same time. is it worth while with intercooler when main use is highway driving?? not looking to make it a comp truck but very capable offroad for the weekends

Excess boost can be harmful to the turbocharger, but unlikely to cause any other problems.
Check over system, there could be a problem (leaky pipe etc) causing the high boost.
EGR can cause rough running problems if faulty, otherwise you wouldn't know its there. It can, however, lead to partial blocking of inlet manifold with the exhaust gas and oil vapours (from old worn engine) gumming together on manifold walls.
Don't worry too much about an intercooler at this stage, get used to your vehicle and get some other things done first
Best of all, have a good search over this site, there's plently of information in regard to td27's and upping their power (they're not overblessed, so any gains are helpful

)

Some solid tech notes as usual there Nath.

Tend to agree... I say steering upgrades so the 33's dont destroy the front the first time out, which if theyre 12.5" wide, they will...

Well it must have had some work done to it, because there is also the relief valve that is set to 14psi?
