The Superwinch 24hr Teams Challenge hosted by Norwest - 25th-28th October (Labour Weekend +1).
Location will be on a private farm (700+ acres) about 30kms out of Ruawai, plenty of space for camping etc.
Will be teams of 3 trucks, and at this stage 10 teams in total.
Watch this space, details to follow (just thought I would give an advanced warning on dates etc)...
Look forward to hearing your feedback and seeing you all there.
Cheers,
Caleb

Hi Caleb, Will this be run under the same rules as the Last 24hr Challenge at Woodhill? Will Club trucks be able to run?
Cheers Brett

Glad to see the interest from you all, we have some cool tracks lined up Just arrived back from another weekend building more tracks
Brett, rules are TBC but it will be structured along the lines of the one at Woodhill, Club trucks will be fine. We are thinking a 1-2 winch per team rule or something along the lines of that.
Will keep you all updated as we go.
Cheers
Caleb

Teaser video and pics to come, when the footage rolls in from the weekend.
The rules and more info will be updated in due time, we are just putting the word out to give a chance for everyone to save up and prepare etc.
Also just to make it fair on everybody, once we open the Registration up it will be first in first served with the money and the paperwork filled out.
Cheers
Caleb

Its the weekend after Manukau winch challenge running according to their website on 18-20th Oct, why don't you leave a bit of time in between events for people that may want to do both?

Hi mate,
We need the long weekend as it is a 2.5hr drive for us, so we need to get up there setup and get it all ready then pack it all down at the end.
Judging by the interest so far I think it is going to be full very quick.
Cheers
Caleb

Please excuse the lack of footage, this is almost all that I have (also first video I've ever made ).
The "access" track that I drive in the safari was the first trip up when it was bone dry, we went up last weekend and I couldn't drive it, Simon had to winch it.
Gotta love off-cambered wet clay

Hi Guys. Got some preliminary rules and regulations together. These maybe subject to minor changes.
ALL TRUCKS must pass scrutineering before the event begins.
You will be checked for the following items: • Rated recovery hooks – front and rear • Approved towing strop/rope • 2kg Fire Extinguisher • Helmets for the driver and co-driver which must be worn at all times whilst competing. • First Aid Kit • Winch Dampener • Spade • Operational Winch
Soft top vehicle MUST have a 4pt roll cage AND a hard roof above the driver and co-driver with a minimum of 2mm alloy strength or equivelent, which will be approved by the scrutineer.
All the trucks must have at least 1 winch.
Steel winch cable will be unspooled and checked for major kinks/damage prior to the event.
Suggested 1 ground anchor per team.
For safety reasons Winch Dampeners must ALWAYS be used when winching.
All trucks must have been first registered in NZ as road going vehicles (m-class), although do not need a current wof and rego.
20km/hr speed limit on access tracks. Breach of this will result in a 1hr stand down period of the whole team.
Each teams support vehicles will remain in the parking area unless the team gets approval from 'the hub'. If approval is granted 1 support vehicle will then be allowed to assist their team. The 20km/hr speed limit applies to support vehicles.
We hope to open up entries within 4 weeks.
Cost will be $120 per truck.
Any questions or issues please feel free to contact myself or filthy4x4 (Caleb).

Thanks mate, Unfortunately due to the size of the farm its not a spectator friendly event.
We may need a small handful of marshalls for the timed speed sections though
Cheers

Your sport will never grow with out spectators. You guys must spend a fortune on your trucks to even get sponsors for an event that has no spectators.

Indeed but making it so OSH compliant and to make it safe for everyone even treating them all like sheep is just too hard.. it would more then double the required people to run an event .. if it was easier then everyone would be doing it..
