Yesterday i did the simple mod on fuel pump by tweaking the star wheel under the diaphram by a couple of clicks. when i removed the diaphram cover there was oil sitting on top of it. question is where the hell is the oil coming from. truck uses no oil. A few weeks back i installed a oil catchcan and this has improved the hazy smoke at idle. noticed a bit of oil in the lines. could this just be a bit of blow by that has gone thruogh the intake and entered the pump thru the vacuum hose????
cheers jono

There is a small amount of oil put in there to act as a lubricant for the pin that runs up and down the tapered rod on the diaphram...
Perfectly normal...Scrub that re read it doh
OPPPS on top of the diaphram... Is there a filter on the boost line / Tee ???

My 1KZT has this on the boost line before it gets to the IP...(grabbed from another site) Its the round thing above the "A" bit....

Dont get any oil residue on the diaphram but I do get some in my Boost Tap adjuster... mostly a misty coating... Builds up over time to form a drip...

thats what ive been following. just doing little bits at a time. cant find that little filter thing ya talking about. my vac line goes from some little solonoid thingys by air cleaner across to the cross over pipe, there is a tee on that and that runs to pump. will try for a bit then remove diaphram cover and see if any more oil in there.
