If you do that people will just wait until you drop it into their price range, if your going to do that you may aswell have a $1 reserve auction!!!

It comes down to how much you want to sell it, if you need it gone set the reserve at the lowest price you would accept and let the auction run.

If you don't really want to sell leave the price high and someone might pay it, but you will have to keep re-listing it and it may well drop in value over that time anyway.
