I've just replaced the timing belt on a mates Bighorn that broke the belt and damaged a few push rods and broke 1 rocker.
Got it all together and it won't start/run. Blows heaps of white smoke out the exhaust when cranking.
Triple checked all the marks line up OK & double checked the valve clearances.
Got it to start and run for a very short time only. Tons of white smoke out the back. Haven't managed to get it to run again.
Any hints or tips please?

considering the valve train damage probably bent valves or broken piston. time to pull the head off and check.

Cheers Tweak.
These old girls don't normally do that much damage, but there's always the exception eh.
Might have to do a cylinder leak down on it......

Just been going through and checking everything again.... I have noticed there are small arrows stamped into the cam and injector pump pulleys.
They don't seem to line up with anything when the pulleys are in the locked positions. These marks are both in approx the 4o'clock position.
Are these marks supposed to be lining up with something?
The manual I have been using doesn't show these marks at all.

Comp and leak down come back all good.
Need to have another go at timing it up.
Strange how the factory timing marks are incorrect.
This is how i have it timed up at the moment.....
