Well, our Pajero lately has been ruining glowplugs at a set every 6 months lately, getting into winter and they have already started to work, even on a mild morning and after 3 glows they still don't work,

I have a theory though, as the turbo is well worn and is not moving the same amount of air that it used to, it is burning hotter due to the extra fuel compared to the air, so that would make the Glow Plugs fail quicker? as in they are being burnt out, does this seem likely? or is there something more likely happening?

check the glows are turning off. check the length of time they are on for. if they are ecu controlled a failing temp sensor can cause the ecu to keep them on to long.

They are bosch, last lot was $20, this lot I just got were $150, don't know where the price difference is.

But I will have to check the timing on them soon.
