EGR Block off plate on GQ TD42

Post by the quadfather »

Hi guys,
I've seen these mentioned quite a bit on the Aussie forums. Apparently improve response and economy bit and stop the fouling up of the intake manifold. Does anyone know where I can buy them in NZ? Cheers
I'll also post this in Nissan Thread

You'll be lucky to find any "off the shelf" ERG block plates, I just removed the ERG system from my Bighorn, runs alot better.

Either buy some small steel plate (5mm for exhaust, 3mm for intake side) and hacksaw them down to size, doesnt take very long. Or get an engineering shop to make you some.

Be warned, bolts on the exhaust side most likely to snap when being removed so make sure you have a drill + tap&die set.

I'd also suggest looking up what's required for your vacuum + positive pressure lines - when I removed everything from the bighorn someone had put a positive pressure to the idle up and the vacuum to the boost compensator on the fuel pump

I am also in the process of doing this. You can get them in oz, or make your own as mentioned. If you can get the old gasket out, you could trace around it to make it easier
