Replaced the left front shock that crapped out yesterday. Ended up doing upper and lower balljoints as well as when I got under there I could see all the grease squeezing out two splits in the boots.
Also adjusted the wheel bearings and flushed out the brake fluid.
Was hoping to do engine oil and front diff oil but that ill have to wait for next weekend.

It's been a busy one at my house as well.
Over the weekend I got these.
Wound up the front torsion bars on the Isuzu.
Moved the power steer reservoir from front to back as per below, L/H pic before, R/H pic after.
This is to make room for the snorkel I'm Building.
On the same goal cut the end off the current air filter case inlet to blank it off, and cut the new hole awaiting the welding in of the new 2 1/2 inch inlet on the other side.
Below photo L/H before, R/H After.
Also fitted one of these for good measure.
Also went to the CHCH swap meet on Saturday.
And watched most of the Great race, which wasn't so good this year with those fix or repair daily’s actually making it to the end for the first time in a long time.
All in all a very good weekend.

Once the hangover subsided on sat morn, went and picked up another possible project, 413 chassis with hilux axles with coil set up. Chassis is fairly well farked, so am not sure yet whether it was a good move or not.
Once the hangover subsided on sun morning

started removing rear axle assembly from last weekends purchase to fit into lil pig. LP had a rooted pinion bearing so rather than swap diffhead I thought may as well the whole assy as my rear axle assembly has hade a pretty hard life. With a few stops (bathurst viewing) got the new diff into LP and was back on the couch with beer watching bathurst by 5

Did an insane amount of work on the LR. Hours and hours of welding

Think I'm all welded out now. Now I have lots of grinding of crap that I had to cut off to make way for the rear cross member fish plates.
Also pulled the drive flange on the Surf to start removal of broken CV, but the CV was not broken, both spline and flange stripped. The CV spline was only half worn so threw an old flange on and will replace the CV when I get a chance (no hard driving otherwise it will go real easy).

I used to sell Gabrial shocks in a previous job, catalouges had some great charts with mountings and extended and compressed lengths, I think most manufacturers do the same, I use Autolign for shocks and they use the same method.

well this weekend i got sick of ripping my stereo aerial off ( i always forget to push it down

) when driving under trees or scrub. so i got an electric one out of a nissan pulsar and wired it up to a switch on the dash so i can lower it whenever it looks like its going to get a hiding.
also put in an inverter to charge up camera and radio batteries when out on the trails. just need to do the dual battery system now.

Thought about an inverter, decided that the battery charger (AA nicads for Canon Cam) came with its own 12V charger and the radios the same.
Siwsan's Fridge is 12V and the camp light is a fancy Dan multi LED one. so I guess I saved a min of $150
