Dogleg Gear , Factory Locker GQ, Repair or replacment?

Broken mine, yet to have a propper look at it , had to leave it soon as I got it out, but I saw the engaging teeth/ gear broken .
Anywhere I can get them new with out paying through my teeth ?
Or anyone here has any second hand ones for a fair price?

Turoa , thanks mate, but will try just finding a dof gear first..
This is what I need .
I've Read on the internet/ heard around, that some people have weld repaired thier damaged dog gears , Any one has done this before?
Or know if this is a bit beyond repair or still worth a try,
Anyone with this kind of knowledge?
Or if anyone willing to split with out rest of the housing/ diff head ?

Evening. I've had mine repaired by a crowd called Duralloy Gears, there a chch based firm. Mine didnt look quite as bad as yours though. It cost me $250-300 approx. Most gear cutting places should be able to sort it for you. Do a quick search on here, im sure theres a post about rebuilding factory lockers. Cheers.

fixed mine as well, $170 from memory. A guy in CHCH when I lived there. Not sure if he exists now after the EQ. Was so strong after that that I broke the crown whell and pinion.

I even fitted it today and tested it on Axel stands, All Ok .
Will be more gentel with my truck next time I think

So are you saying the factory locker is weaker than a LSD.

Is in engageing them with wheels turning (and difference in speed sde to side) that causes this problem?
Or are they prone to popping out of engagement and wearing with lots of torque on them?

I personally think the problem lies with the solenoids. The nissan ones are as slow as snails to get the thing to engage or disengage. When I fitted aftermarket ones to my saf there and my patrol here, they engage as quickly as an e-locker or air locker now. Previously with the factory ones they took some time to engae and disengage. This is where I think the damage occurs as you are turning the vehicle.

I agree with AlBundy, Have yours been diesel or Petrol ?
Mine is Petrol and seem to turn on and off fairly quick, I wonder if this is providing more Vaccum than a Diesel engine would
( I havn't had any experiance with other lockers though.) I think just once or twice I'm thinking hurry up, but maybe because I wasn't wanting to get stuck or bit under pressure.
The factory lockers have a good rep, unless you drive them rough and want to do skids etc as much as you can while locker is switched on.
I think that's what did damage to mine, and let's not forget these things have some wear on them by now. Go the Y60's
