Guys up north mount commodore alternators up high on their Bighorns. The other thing I've seen done is a hole drilled in the unit, and a window washer motor mounted to it to keep the mud off the bushes.

Both worked very well.

With the aircon pump, does the pulley/idler on the other side (on the air filter side of the engine bay run anything but the aircon pipes running to the aircon radiator? Can I just drop the belts off these pulleys all together? Would make things so much easier!

And I agree, the alternator is in a bastard of a place to get to, couldnt even see a way of getting it out without taking the aircon pump out first.

hey i agree dumb ass set up. take half hour jus to reach dam thing. keep ya belts on bro , on the air filter side its the power steer pump. which is important if you want to make lite work of steerin. ripped all air con pipes out and air con radiator. no need for them. my pump is now jus a oversized idler.
