axle relocation plates

whats the legalities on using relocation plates to move your front axle forward?

somthing like

seems to be an easy way of moving it forward without redriling spring mounts or doing a ruf conversion or similar

I had them on a cruiser once. never had them pointed out as a wof issue. Snake racing makes great stuff.
