Indicator issue

I've looked everywhere and need some help
I have a 92 Holden rodeo 2.8 diesel and the indicators have started playing up, only happens when the headlights are one, when I indicate left for example the right hand will flash aswell but dimmer.
Also if I brake at the same time the rear tail lights flash including the reverse lights, and to complicate it further when I brake with headlights on and indicate right the left hand rear indicated flashes!

Any help/ideas appreciated

Sounds like maybe the switch is playing up?

Has it got a trailer plug?? check to make sure its wired up correctly, and that there is no water/contact in the plug itself.

otherwise beats me

It sounds like you have a bad earth on one of the rear lights, pull the lights out and check for corrosion in the multiplug. it's usually a ford problem!

awesome will pull tail lights and check it out,
However to add to the drama, if I hold the brake and truck in reverse and turn engine off the it will continue to run until I either take foot off brake or take out of reverse!
Hope it just a bad earth

Maybe I was wrong with the diagnosis. If it stay running as you say then there must be a short between the stop and reverse lights. It's still likely to be in the back lights or the trailer plug.
