It's been a mare of a week. I've cooked the 13BT and she needs a rebuild.

Should I rebuild her or look for a upgrade. Contemplating a 1HZ (if I can find one- help if you can).

What other options should I consider in diesel?

My .002c

Go another 13BT ( or go for a rebuild) The 1HZ's have abit more torque ( 1HZs 285nm vs 13BT 217nm) but only 9more hp at factory. You could prob get that out of a 13BT with abit of tuning

Don't get me wrong , 1HZ's are awesome engines , I use to run one in my70 but the hassle of new engine mounts , you'd also have to find a HZ gearbox or swap the output shaft because the 4 cyl and 6 cly shafts are different. Swapping the shafts means taking the gearbox to bits . Different bellhousing , cert etc

For the gains its alot of work . If you were gonna put that effort in a 1HDT might be more worthwhile

Just things to consider

Thanks 109. I'm in the proces of shopping around for the rebuild. If it's too deal, I'm writing it off.
