Ugly is a state of mind..... and the state of my truck!
Re: post your trucks fuel use

2.8 diesel turbo and intercooled surf, lucky if my 60 litre tank can get 450kms gently, 400kms on enthusiast driving.
We all drive aerodynamic bricks on fat tyres, dont think good fuel economy is part of the deal of owning 4WD'S

maybe we all need to invest in some of those vortex generators

Re: post your trucks fuel use
Depends on weather I have the small wheels on the front or not replicating downhill driving, and due to the angle the fuel gauge actually goes up so I take that as negative fuel consumption.
With the std wheels on all round im with the other petrol users, om nom nom

Just did the maths on the fuel from this weekends trip. Fully loaded 6 people and there gear all the group camp gear normal recovery gear, full sized steel roof basket loaded up with the above gear. 240km of highway travel, 70km of offroad (round figures) total of 304km used 60lts of diesel. Which equals just under 20lt per hundred

1994 Land Rover Discovery auto 2.5TD 9lt/100km. Can squeeze over 800km on a tank on open road at approx. 90kph. When I tow my FJ40 bush truck with a 350 Chevy I still get easy 600km on a tank!!!! Not at 90 though haha. Only do 90 on the straight and dies big time on hills but who cares.
Re: post your trucks fuel use
just done a trip from palmy to taupo return in my 88 safari non turbo 35's and a full set of 35/13.5's in the back on the way up and came up with 12 litres per 100km

Not sure if this was meant to be for Nissan owners or not, but am amused by all the non Nissan's that are now in this thread

Re: post your trucks fuel use
Never worked out the Ks/ltr but my 1990 3ltr V6 Surf would have contributed to 1/2 the worlds global warming on its own.
320Ks per tank on highway driving
120ks per tank off road
Loved the truck not the empty wallet, it had to go.
Apparently the Lexus in it would be cheaper to run

2004 Pajero Diesel, chipped. 11l-12l/100km around town open road mixed. Best was 10.8l/100km on the open open road, worst was ~13l/100km around town with a heavy foot.

Was for me, get an extra 50k per tank because you dont have to drive it so hard to get it to move.
To Boon or not to Boon.
Re: post your trucks fuel use
TD42 nissan swb 545 kms for 65 litres diesil exactly , highway, do not ask how I know this .
Re: post your trucks fuel use
Over the last year I have been collecting the fuel usage data for my truck.
1991 Safari, SWB, TD42, non turbo, 5spd, 31" tyres.
Travelled 14072km and used 1702.75l of fuel = 12.1l/100km
Best tank was 721km on 79.29l = 10.99l/100km (open road trip Akl to Whakatane and back)
Worst tank was 588km on 78.54 = 13.36l/100km (half tank around town other half in the sand dunes)

Not a Nissan but 96 3.0TD (non-intercooled) Surf, auto. 31s.
65l in a tank. Always over 600km before I hit E light, then can get another 50+. Never let it get that low though.
When I'm towing the Zuki on the trailer it's more like 300-400. Going to woodhill costs me over half a tank for a 200km round trip.
