Windscreen Not Demisting....

Post by Kezza »

Hey guys,

My windscreen is no longer demisting when I push the button, it has no air coming out of the top vents but has plenty of pressure and air coming out of the rest of the vents. Any ideas on what could have happened... Im not the best with this sort of thing so wouldnt really know where to start

Not trying to jack your thread, but no point me starting up another one similar,

Anyone know of anything that works as a good anti mist? something you spray onto windows to stop them from misting up? my terrano is real bad for it.

Rain-X has an anti-fog product you can put on the w/screen Dirtydog.
We also used to use Pert 2 in 1 shampoo on the rally car screen.

Kezza - It sounds like the vent control isn't working properly.
There could be a problem caused by dust build up in the mechanism, or it could be another issue causing a jam.

Do you go hunting in the truck? Use a .22?
Make sure the w/screen vents are covered if you do, as the used shells easily go down the vents and jam the dampner up. To remove the shells the heater box has to be removed in most cases.

Cheers for that, ill have a hunt around, repco and warehouse here dont seem to hav anything like that.

As for looking for the jam etc, the only easy way i can think of is one of those cameras on the flexi tube, but theyre expensive unless you know where you can borrow one from?

Recpo normally stock the RAIN-X. Is your aircon working well? Makes all the difference.

nope not working very well at all. Suspect a blown fuse as the it goes but it wont switch between feet/windscreen etc etc etc.

P.S, the repco here is anything but usefull in that respect.

But anyway, back to the matter at hand

Usually its a matter of removing the whole dash unfortunately.

Couldn't find a link to the Rain-x on Ripco web page, but I did at Superchump.....

Also with the amount of moisture that's been around lately, it is a good idea to open the vehicle up and let it air out.
