GQ coil spring pads/cushions

Hi All,

I'm not sure what the correct name is but what I have is some 30mm coil spring spacers on my LWB GQ. I actually want to remove them and fit some factory 'thin' rubber ring/pads/cushions.

I assume if I don't fit them I'll get metal on metal noises?

Where can I source new ones, will Nissan be the only option?

Thanks

Cheers guys, good suggestion for the rubber tube. I might try that, and see how it goes.

Does anyone know if they have them for the bottom of the springs?
I've just got some new ones in and it sounds like metal on metal rubbing

All of the above options can go top or bottom of the spring as long as its not a tapered spring.

To update this. I tried using rubber hose on the top of the spring but now the spring moves around, on the back at least.

It looks like at the back the locating top mount leaves a roughly 0.5cm gap between it and the coil spring.

The pad should have a lip that fills the gap.

The 50mm spacers that I took out also had the lip.

I need to certify the thing now anyway so will need to source some proper pads.

Hey mate, I found they were actually 50mm ones when I took them out. Haven't thought about it yet but will be for sale, was going to try sell them on trademe along with the 4" raised shocks since they are now too long.
