Rear mount radiator, 4X4 challenges.

Garage talk. Anything from mounting a winch to water proofing the electrics.

Rear mount radiator, 4X4 challenges.

Post by shortylux »

Not sure where to put this.
Rear mount rad's seems to be on the way in for challenge class. Got any constructive thoughts for or against? (yes, I know it's been done)

Reply on the 4X4 challenges site (if you can remember your log in) seeing as it's their rules we are talking about.
Cheers.

It pains me to say this. (because engine life is a big deal in my world) Rear mount radiators should be left for modified class only, leave challenge class engine bay mounted. Makes it way harder

i am not to fussed either way.
their is a class that allows for this mod anyway ??
we do the same tracks , braging rights are the same.

is this an advantage ?
benefits are a cooler running truck when radiator are blocked, less engine temp.

Hell no braging rights ain't the same from the bogs I have been parked in, up mamaku. And I have never had to try doing it in a hurry. If your radiator is on the back you will remain far calmer hahahaha.

Yeah. In a not fun way.

Why not have your say on the 4x4 challenges site people? (Link above) Those who make/vote for the rules aren't necessarily going to check all these threads on ORE.

Yeah it is a shame.
What little discussion is on there is usually quite good though.

So Aaron has started work on his new setup for the proposed rule change
Is he doing it right? He does not drive in a straight line anyway

Na you have it all wrong. Rear mount radiators are coming in. Mid mount radiators are not scheduled till 2019. Just after portal axles I think.
