Electrical problem ?

Hi people,
Had my 1990 surf petrol V6 go down to 5 cylinders,so to find out which lead needed replaced I took each lead off whilst the engine was running-to hear a change in sound...But....now the thing won't start.It turns over but thats all.Did I ark something out ? All my fuses are good.Hmmm confused....help?!

Pull a plug and see if you have spark. If not the coil or ignitor has failed.

Hold the threaded part of the plug against the block/head where it can make a circuit. It wont spark hanging in the breeze.
Yellow spark is crap, bright blue sparks that audibly crack are the goods.

Your gonna love this, with modern ignition systems you can damage them by pulling the leads off the plugs whilst they're running. I've done it a couple of times and not damaged anything but maybe I've been lucky...

Yep good advice from previous posters.
Definitely don't pull the plugs whilst the motor is running as with some coil setups this can damage them with no resistance.
And for spark testing the plug needs to be in the lead and the plug touching a grounded component such as the head etc.
