Vitara Clutch adjustment

Hey all

Another question
On the weekend I changed my G/Box and T/Case fluid. GL-4 75w90 with a bit of Moreys in there for good measure.
I thought I would adjust the clutch aswel because sometimes its hard to get into first when stopped.
Question is, when adjusting a clutch that's not stuffed, but not new, should you be tightening or loosening the cable?
I have borrowed this pic off auszookers that shows a vitara clutch adjuster at the end of its loosest adjustment.
I know I should have pedal free play but i can also get that up at the top of the clutch pedal.
Should I be loose like the pic of the other end of the scale or somewhere in the middle?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Well remember paying for a little time is cheaper than replacing a burnt out clutch.

If it isnt at the end of its travel either way it should be safe.

as it wears the take up point will rise if left unadjusted.

Remember this when tutuing

Double check that the rod that the clutch pedal pivots on is still straight.

Both my vitara's had problems with this, its a real awkward thing to replace without removing the pedal box, but can be done.

I replaced mine with a HT Bolt, its a weird size cant remember exactly, got it from steel and tube.
