WJ or WK? Which is it to be?

Looking at getting a Grand Cherokee as a daily driver. Which is best to get?
WJ Overland or Limited 4.7 or
WK Overland or Limited 5.7 Hemi.
WJ is cheaper (of course) but am I better to hold out for a WK?
Pro's and con's?
Anyone really know and not biased?
Any feedback here will be greatly appreciated.

Between the two, I would go for the WK 5.7l Hemi.

Thank you TJ for your opinion but my question is why old chap why? :? What make a WK better and in what way is it better? Personally I prefer the looks of the WJ but is the Hemi so much better?
Does the Hemi use less fuel or more?
What issues do each model present?
So much I don't know :?

yeah I hear ya! But it's more a matter of which is the lesser of the two evils?
Want something as a daily driver but can also tow the caravan or trailer when needed. Jeep's are a whole lot of vehicle for the money IMHO.
Already have a TJ as a daily driver and just love it!

Test drive both and see which you prefer. WJs are starting to get around 10 year old now, so likely to have some maintenance needs pop up. WKs are still relatively newer, engine is better in torque and power. As fuel economy, it depends on how you drive.

WKs have slightly more back seat leg space, but thats at the cost of boot space.

Im over 6'2" and can fit comfortably in my WJ's back seat even when front is fully back. Definately wouldn't like the less boot space in the WK :?

I have done some research a few years back before I bought the WJ. Based on that the 5.7 might have a slightly better fuel economy hence the newer design, but my mechanic mate wouldnt recommend it for me cos some reliability issues i can't remeber
...but who wouldnt like to drive a 5.7 hemi???

I went with the WJ as it is a better value for money in my eyes especially the 2002-2004 Limited and Overland models. There is also a lot more aftermarket stuff out there for it.

You want to take it out offroading at all?

Yeah, I am also thinking better value for money with something older but still in good shape. Newer than 2003 has the high output engine, gooder for towing? Don't really want to off road it as have a lovely TJ for that, but once you own one??? Maybe tempted for the odd safari etc, not much room in a Wrangler aye!
Thanks for the comments.
Cheers.

WG is good value for money, but if were to buy one for mainly road use I would go with WK.

We have been very happy with ours, but it is getting on 10 years now.

For offroading, WG has more options available.

Havent seen much HO here in NZ. They came out in 2002 as standard in the Overland and optional for the Limited. Saying that my Ltd has all sorts of things in it that shouldn't be and some are missing that should be :? The left hand drive ones (WG) must be slighly different.
If you found one you like may it be WK or WG you can get the factory build sheet emailed to you to see exactly what was put in it. Good luck mate 8)

I have the 02 Overland with the 4.7HO, it also has a free flow exhaust with big fat coby at the back, just for extra bark :D . I haven't done any towing in it but I can tell you it has lots of pulling power
