i think my pinion seal is naffed cos its leaves a nice puddle of diff oil. does anyone no how to fix it? how hard is it? any input would be much appreciated.

Easy job if its a lux and you have a rattle gun 
take the drive shaft off, thers's a tab sort of area on the nut to bash up, the take off the nut, flange pulls off, now you can use a big screwdriver to rip out the old seal, replace with new seal back on with flange and nut , bash down tab and you're done.
check the area where the flange runs on the seal for damage too
