SCA 7-9" elec fan, how many CFM?

Post by lax2wlg »

Hi
As it says, those Super Cheap 7-9" fans (the smaller ones), how many cu.ft of air per minute do they move? I had a look in the store but it doesn't say anything on the packaging...

Bugger all. I wouldn't be using them for a radiator fan, maybe trans cooler or intercooler would be suitable.

Cheers yeah it would be for a intercooler, but I dont have enough room. But I can find some compact psycho-fast 250cfm server fans, and could possibly rig up 3-4 of them.

I'm thinking the Supercheap fans would be 500-800cfm?

you'll find factory fit fans apart from the real top end of the aftermarket stuff will out perform the cheap shite,
I normally go to pick apart and head towards the euro fords as some of them run twin bosch fans with separate shrouds.
pull them out , test on the battery by the checkout, pay $30 odd .
most of them are draw through so you've just got to decide where you want to draw the cool air from
problems are only a problem if you not willing to learn how to find solutions

Quite a few nissans I've seen over the years have the main draw thru fan, and a smaller auxilliary push thru fan to one side infront of the radiator that runs with the a/c (presumably its mounted at the hot end of the a/c element), might also be worth a look.
