Std spring height of SWB GQ?

Post by Craydiver »

Could anyone tell me what either std spring height or height with 2inch lift is on front coil?
Im unsure what actual suspension lift my safari has (88 SWB GQ NA). Prior owner had a full coil & shock replacement done 5yrs ago. OME coils 976. other guys say the vehicle definitely looks lifted, but how much is the question.
I currently have worn 33's and as I need new rubber im considering 35's.
I have 40mm blocks yet to fit for body lift, so its really to confirm if I have 2inch lift or less. Pic shows my front right - appears to be bang on 300mm

Searches have found this
From Patrol forum
Std height GU,GQ coil spring sys, front spring tower to spring base is 265mm min 275mm max depending on bar fitted, batteries etc, rear spring tower to diff tube is 330 min 350 max depending on equip fitted eg rear seats, extra tank and how much fuel.
For a 2 inch suspension sys front should be around 315mm front and 390mm rear via sys supplied. Added to this shocks need to be considered adding 50 mm to the shocks lg will reduce your compressed travel length, meaning your shocks will bottom out before the bump stops become effective, especially with the taller lifts. STD shock lg are front 480mm extended 289mm compressed rear 619mm / 385mm resp.
I think standard height centre of wheel to wheel arch is meant to be 550mm rear and 540mm on the front.
Best way to find out exactly what lift the springs are, if you have std bump stops and not spaced that is. Stock bumpstop clearance is 60mm on the front and 70mm on the rear

Appears mine is about 1inch lift (300mm spring tower to base), can anyone confirm the above info as correct?
