how do you find the 2.4s in these prados? they must be a bit a tad heavier than a surf? Curious as a Prado is something I could buy as a tourer

Had 2 x 2.4's now cheap to run but can be quite revvy/ underpowered, the 4.8 gearing helps a lot.

Agree with Jerry(Did I just say that).
Slow on the road, need to be kept cool, off road they are good.
The LWB Prado is quite a bit heavier than a surf but drive it accordingly and you'll get there eventually.
I'd imagine 34's would slow it down a bit too, I run 33's off road and it takes quite a bit away from the engine when running them on road.
I'd buy another one again, would prefer a 1KZ due to the extra power, but the extra price plus modding them puts them out of my price range.

yes it has 4.8 gears. and i have found it good on the road .drive it smart and all is good . Went over to greymouth used the Arthers pass and used half tank gas.went great...
