excuse my ignorance... how do you run a diesel motor on lpg?
The massive compression of a diesel motor will not like the high octane of LPG. Won't it go BANG!!!?

You cant use LPG in place of diesel in a diesel motor ...it will destroy it.
LPG will only work in a petrol engine.

You do a conversion

Those convertions and really mods. As it only introduces LPG into the combustion process of the diesel.. Fumigation.. It still needs diesel to run.
To use LPG to replace diesel as a fuel in a diesel engine wont work.

Yes, this works. For every 10 litres of LPG you put in, I always make sure I mix it with the same amount of water for my farm hilux, it raises the compression ratio which gives a bigger bang, more power

. You get a double bonus with adding the water, almost makes half the mileage free unless you buy pump bottles but that's a dear way of doing it.

From Aust 4WD Action forum:
12H-T on gas FOR THE WIN.
I have a basic fumigation setup on mine (installed 7 yrs ago at 240k now 320k) by Torquegas into the induction pipe. It picks up vapour from the 20L tank (where spare tyre used to be) with a converter for safety and small manual adjustment. Triggered by 0.5 psi by hobbs switch - draws more gas as revs and load increases.
Since LPG i've added a big dump pipe & 3 inch exhaust, 14 psi, external pump tweaks and front mounted air to air 'cooler. Max 500 deg post turbo.
The LPG which can be turned on/off is brilliant and very noticeable. Holds gear up hills big time.
City/h'way cycle is around 12L diesel & 3L gas.
Bang for buck - my setup was 3K and i scored the 2K gov refund - great value but 5K for a dgas system..... maybe not.
