g13a head on g16a

Post by jervisad »

i have heard that if you put the 1300 head on the 1600 that it makes it go better because of higher compression in the 1300? is this true? just wondering cause i have a couple of 1300s sitting at home. only asking cause i couldnt find much in the forums

cheers

Smaller valves so I would imagine it would struggle to breathe efficiently. :?

Yeah not a good idea the ports are smaller as well. As for the compression ratio, it would be the same. There are two variants of G13 in SJs/Samurais, the first is the G13A which is 1328cc and has a compression ratio of 8.9:1. The second is the G13BA which is 1298cc and has a compression ratio of 9.5:1 (same as G16A) The reason for the difference is that the G13A has dished pistons and the G13BA has flat-top pistons. The heads are the same so neither will increase the compression ratio of a G16A.
