I have a 94 Disco TDi 200 auto. I only use it for the odd fund raiser Safari or for towing my V8 bush truck into Ngaroma when I want to camp in it as I normaly use my Ford Ranger.
Just wondering if there is a bit of tweeking I can do to give a tad more grunt other than fitting a Lexus V8................
I already fitted a 1000 amp battery, 100w light bulbs, spots AND a winch for the up hills but nothing worked...................

Definitely do that before playing with the fuel, will tell you when your motor's getting too hot so you can back off before it melts a piston.

I had a Disco and I was running at max free boost 25 psi in it and all I did was disconect the wastgate, advance the fuel injection and put a intercooler that went from one slam panel to the other. I had a piro and a boost gauge and watching them when I was pulling 2 1/2 tons up a steep it only got to 25 psi free boosting with the standad turbo so its not putting any real stress on the motor.

Yea the wastgate is set for 16 psi from factory so its not that much more .

Yup, the little Garret's crank out 25psi easy, but just create heat and loose efficiency over about 15psi which is the factory pressure.

No they only start looseing efficiency at 20 psi and the heat that they create is taken away by the massive intercooler and so its still a good boost.

True, how did you determine its efficiency up to 20psi???
Be interested to see your calculations

To tell you the truth I didn't do any real calculations.
I ran 2 piros one before the turbo and one after a boost gauge a vauum gauge before the turbo, inline oil and water temp sender and my mate made a sencer unit to get the speed of the turbine but no real calculations.
How how did you determine that it was 15 psi?

Just out of interest, what sort of RPMs was the turbo getting up to?

The top RPMs i saw was 34,000* at 25psi.
