Disco ute chop advice

I've just bought a two door disco body of trade me. I've also got a td5 motor and 5spd to power it with.i want to cut it down into a ute .to use as a daily driver . Not sure weather to keep the back seat or not . The two designs I like are these




Just like some opinions on both . It will be lime green to match the rest of the fleet.

I personally prefer the first 1 but if youve got kids then maybe the 2nd one would be better.

Depends on your needs and what trips your doing with it, if your wanting to be able to do anything in town, pick up some shopping etc as well as 4wding, then 2nd one would have more secured storage and cargo area.
If your wanting to do the tough tracks and be able to get hold of your recovery gear in a hurry then more open back design would suit you better...

...as for owning 3 landys, I think you need help mate!

1st one but make a hard top for the tray so you can keep stuff dry and secure.

Mate its not three landys its four my wonderful wife has kicked me out of the td5 disco 2 so she can move out of the mx5 goldfish pond.

I just want to build a dayley driver and tow wagon for my comp truck.but it will also be capeable in its own right . So it will get f&r lockers winch, bars , snorkel.the rubber of comp truck after to t1000. Got some +2 springs ,shocks and cranked rear arms that i took of the comp truck.i like the look of the orange one ,but the tray is a bit small.so i would have to cut the roof more and cut side window and bring rear pillar. Falword 300mm and bob it maybe 100mm longer to give me more tray room.Which will be alot more work.to get it to have that factory type finish that im so anal about .

As with the green one i.can only fit two people in it and just enough room for the dog behind the seat.but it has a much bigger tray,i thought maybe make cab bigger on green one and but a couple off wee seat out of an extra cab in the back.

Chopping mine into a single cab was the biggest mistake I made with the 60 (so far ) wish I had a back seat to take the brats with me.

Both look cool as tho, personally I like the orange one.

Im hearing your pain tom.when useing it to tow my comp truck most events u need a co offender so if zahra wants to come we have to take two trucks

you could proberly mount the 2 seats out of the boot of the 7 seater model into the boot of the first one proberly get the best of both. are you gonna seal the cab of completely

I was going to flare my guards like the loanranger orange disco and use the rr classic tail gate and rear lights like the light blue one.but i dont like the slab sided rear and side walls On the cab .





Thought it was quite trick how they use rr bottom tail gate and rear light

top one with canvas rag top with roll up sides and back, makes access easy,kids dry and looks more visually balanced
also pitbulls and staffies make great car alarms leave one in there and they'll let any snoopy bugger know
