I am currently able to modify your 80 series center diff to transform your full time 80 series into a part time 4wd.

The benefits of this include much less wear and tear on the driveline, lighter steering and better fuel economy. Its a brilliant mod and I highly recommend it to any 80 series owner.

I currently have an exchange unit in stock which means minimal down time for you to swap the parts out.

The price is $300+postage

Installation available

*note you will need to get a pair of free wheeling hubs. These can come from most 60 and 70 series landcruisers and solid axle hiluxes. Later model 80 series may require a small spacer on the CV spline.
*ABS vehicles will disable the ABS with Free Wheeling hubs as the ABS ring is located on the CV

Great kit, did mine a couple months back, still to do manual hubs and noticing up to 50k's per tank extra!!!

note to self ,must pull finger out of arse and get spare centre diff to turoa for mods

ok ive been talking to a few lads about the upcoming conversation and it was mentioned that i may be running the viscous center diff, how would i be able to find out which center diff that im running?
my trans code is.
A442F auto
K295 Transfer box center diff?? or just the axle diff set up??

the viscous centre diff has a long rear out put housing on the transfer case.

one way to tell for sure is to get all four wheels off the ground, transfer in neutral and turn one out out shaft on the transfer. if it's viscous the other will turn in the same direction, if its open the other will turn in the opposite direction or not turn at all. it's the same method as to determine if a diff is a clutch and viscous lsd. keep in mind if a diff is torsen lsd this method won't work but the center diff is viscous so this mehtod will work unless the viscous centre is stuffed... then use the transfer case rear out put length.

Sorry must have missed this. Doesn't look like it has a viscous coupling from the photo, however even if it does it can be removed pretty easily as they are prone to seizing. Here's a tutorial

They still have the center diff, the viscous coupling is more of an additional thing to help with traction in high range

ok from reading that link and doing some on road testing im reasonably certain that my c/d is std not viscous.

viscous c/d is described as scuffing when doing hard look turns much like a lsd can do. as i've got an lsd in the rear i would of thought that a viscous would show itself relatively early into the turn.
