Bit Of Advice.....

Post by BogBoy »

Ok so I was jacking my 4wd up yesterday using the factory towing hook.

It dropped a bit but held. I thought it had bent the hook

Got home and put it up on the ramps today to find out its bent the cross member and chassis end due to rust on the inside

Any ideas?

My plan was to chop it all off and replace with some box section as this would be stronger than factory and can also mount proper towing hooks on it.

If you know any panelbeaters, get them to do the job so you have a paper record if you ever get pinged on it for a wof, or tack the box section in and get a certified welded to finish it.

Got a metal bar in there and bent it back straight then welded it back together so it can be sent to get done right

Its the bit right above the drivers side towing hook
