hi lads.
Ive noticed that my front pads arent making full contact with the discs.
On both sides the pads are only contacting the middle of the discs, with about an inch on the outer and inner diameter not making contact. The discs and pads are about 2yrs old. Could it be the sliders on the calipers?
Any help appreciated.

Do you have a picture? An inch on the inner, and outer diameters not contacting? I'm surprised you have any contact at all!!
Is it all four surfaces doing this?
What condition are rotors in? Rusted at all?

are you sure it has the correct pads fitted? pic of rotors and faces of pads would tell a lot more

I found that happens when you have a stuck/seized caliper slide. I use copper cote on them every time I change brake pads on any car.

Its high heat, anti-seize copper paste.

It can also happen if the brake piston is half seized too.....

Hope this helps

After going through lots of silty mud mine did something similar. There was only a strip on the out side that the pad was contacting on. The mud wore away part of the pad so the friction compound was not parallel with the backing plate. I took them off a milled them parallel and the problem was fixed for a while. Ending replacing the pads with Bendix 4x4 ones and can't remember having any more problems.
