Post by Jay »

Hey all,

Anyone got a factory front locker motor for an 80 series cruiser laying around that they might want to part with.....?

Cheers,

Jay

Hey Skid,

I think the motor in mine is burnt out (although I haven't pulled it off yet) but yeah, am going to price up getting it rebuilt - thought I would ask on here as well to see what was out there :)

If you don't mind me asking, what did yours cost to rebuild?

Cheers,

Jay

if it's burnt out you can have it re-wound :-)

ummm yeah ;-)

I needed a spare motor to steal bits off, luckily a mate had one lying around

Another mate made a good motor out of two bad ones for me

Another mate installed it back into housing and made sure it was operational and the same mate has loaned me his spare head plus motor for the last 6 months or so

Lots of mates that must love me enough to share thier expertise

and the total cost for all of this was the Monster Garage saying of ...........

Nothing
Nada
Zip
Zilch
Freebie

Haha - Nice one skid! I have a few mates with 80's, but i reckon they might notice if I robbed bits off their trucks and no ones got a spare! haha

And yup wjw - I will pull it off this weekend and if that's the issue, will have it rewound :)

Cheers guys,

Jay
