cant believe some one hasn't started this yet .Have been trying to do an economy run with the prado lately and filled it up and ran it till almost dry .Have been driving it easy trying to see how many kms i can get out of a tank .managed to get 300 kms according to the speedo but 340 according to the gps ,think i will go with the gps figure .used 75 ltrs so it works out at 22ltrs per 100kms :o awesome economy NOT.now have to figure out whats wrong ,think it has something to do with faulty o2 sensors .Was also working on the 80 as well .Have rebuilt the injectors and adjusted the tappits which were a mile out .reason they were a mile out is because the rockers have worn into the rocker shaft :( .Now have to find a complete set of rockers and a rocker shaft for a 1hd-ft .Not an easy job .Hate to think what toyota want for the parts ,probably arm leg and first born

Went out to Orongorongo station with CCVC. Did a few river crossings and managed to find a massive boulder on my third run through when I took a slightly different line.

Crushed the sump guard against the sump, smashed the exhaust off, crushed the front suspension cross member, and put a deep spiral gouge that wraps a couple of times around the rear driveshaft and a deep dent in the middle off it.

Could only do 65kph from the Wainui coast back to Paraparaumu - was a slow return trip......

Good to meet a few peeps off here yesterday. Hope I can get ready in time for Odlins next weekend!

Sunday was was the Featherston Family 4x4 trials day, 8 vehicles started and 7 1/2 finished  yup you do really need the front diff attached to help with traction eh Alistair

Was a bitter cold start to the day but soon warmed up and became a really pleasant day with those watching being able to shed the extra warm layers of clothing as the day progressed.

Great hazards that ranged from straight mud runs too cross axled sand traps, and then some in reverse, im not going to elaborate on how those went.....

Lotsa fun, smart comments, and everyone helping/pitching in. Just as days like this should be.
Thanks Rod for putting a great day together, Ill have to hand 1st place novice cup over next year, need to go for 1st place overall next :D
