WTD/SWAP/BORROW Rear Toyota 8" 4.1 Diff

As title states, I'm after a rear Toyota 8" 4.1 diff head to either buy or swap for my 4.3 diff or even borrow one off someone for a bit (Can work out a bond arrangement).

Reason is my gearing is a bit out of whack due to an engine transplant and need to drop some revs.

Keen to sample a 4.1:1 unit first to see if that's the ratio that suits me.

If that is the right one, then I will be after a 4.1 high pinion 8" front diff to match. These are from 80 series Land Cruisers.

Yea doesn't matter what vehicle it came out of. All diff heads swap straight over as long as they are the same size obviously.

hilux 4.1 from memory. open, not sure if it is 2 or 4 pinion.(don't know how to tell the pinion number). I'll confirm its ratio this morning.
I kept it to swap into my drag car if i don't like the 4.3 currently in it.

use a calculator similar to this?
4 pinion = 4 spider gears 4 pinions that support them.
2 pinion = 2 spider gears and 2 pinions, more open carrier.

Doesn't matter about the pinion count. I'll be throwing a locker into the works at some stage.

You will only find the 4.1 high pinion in the 80s the 71 and 78 ran 4.8 in the 2lte's and 4.3 with the 1kzs thats for auto someone may correct me on the manual versions.

I was going to throw aftermarket gears in the front if there were none floating around.

Have seen a couple of 4.1 80 series front diffs on Trade Me.

Just want to see how it drives with taller gearing + 35s.

Not too sure yet if I want to keep my other 33s for the road and 35s for play or just run 35s all the time being a weekend warrior it doesn't matter too much.

Want to try my options before I commit to anything.
