Snorkel

Post by JFH »

Does a snorkel affect the performance of an engine in normal use???? I have a suzuki escudo 95 v6 and thinking of putting one on. I dont use it for much extreme off roading so just seeing if it would be worth it.

It's not going to give you an extra 200k's per tank and another 30hp if thats what you're asking.

^lol, it feels like I've lost power with my snorkel. It has a small diameter and I suspect this has increased the pumping losses.

Nothing to write home about. Might give very very small gains if its the right size/shape but will take 20years before it starts paying for its self. I found with my petrol surf and my safari it makes a cool sound so you tend to give it a bit more right foot 8) therefore I am worse off

Im not sure that i noticed any gains with Snorkel, but you dont have to be doing extreme offroading to come across a hole or crossing with water deep enough to be sucked up through the intake from the inner-guard.
