Recently got hold of a stock 05 navara, running 265/70 r16 tyres at the moment and they will do for one more warrant, so Ive been looking into replacements. It seems that 15 inch 4x4 tyres are significantly cheaper than 16 inch tyres of the same size. Also for aesthetic purposes I am keen to lose the ugly stock 4 spoke alloys. in favor of 15 inch black steel rims with 31x10.5 tyres. Only problem is the brakes fitting inside the 15 inch rims, have seen by browsing other sites that it can be done but was just wondering if anyone has done it here in NZ and how they did it (what offset they used etc) and whether it worked out for them? cheers.

Re: D22 navara on 15 inch rims
My mate did this to his D22 Navara - just need to get rims with enough offset. Can't tell you off hand exactly what offset his were but were 15x7 with a negative offset - any decent tyre/wheel place should be able to sort it
Re: D22 navara on 15 inch rims
yeah figured it would need a negative offset, just wary of the extra stress on suspension/wheel bearings and how much to extend the guards by. Has your mate had any such problems?
Re: D22 navara on 15 inch rims
My understanding is you can on the first gen only - as then they went to larger calipers or discs or both on the later ones.

Dad has 15x7 white spokes for his -19 offset, couldnt go 15x8 cause of brakes,
Find some factory steelies there 16x7 throw some 265 70 or 75 on them away laughing, cause old boy has 7.50 r16 sats on his factory steels, might even have a spare set here of factory rims
