DO get some Elf sp 680 worm gear oil.. all others fail miserably...that would be the single most best thing you can do..

That's it. I found it very useful when I got my Safari as due to the winch never being used it was not very happy :( , but after stripping and cleaning its awsome :D

I also need to strip down my PTO.
Is this worm gear oil easily found in 4-5litre cans?
ive checked 1 place and im told they could get in but in 20l only and about $180-200

Also -if bearing/seals need replacing, assume most bearing places stock them?
Any pointers or things to note/do when reassembling these?

I picked up a 4 litre bottle directly from the ELF distribution place in Auckland. From memory was only 40 to 50 bucks...May have been cheaper...

Don't know about the seals ECT, but with the oil I went in with a couple of mates and we split it. Worked out well for us.
I have also seen small amounts on TM in the past too
