Hi just a fast question ragards a 50mm lift to a terrano or any 4wd. Apsrt from being able to fit larger wheels and tyres are there any benefits to fitting a lift kit either body or suspension.
cheers

Bodylift advantages: gives a lot more crawl space under the truck, makes it easier to work on everything, allows you to fit larger tyres without modifying the front suspension. For a lot of people this avoids quite a few issues.
Susp. lift advantage: If you also fit extended shocks to the rear, this will increase wheel travel and therefore ground contact, therefore increased off road ability. If you fit soft coils & remove swaybars this will encourage the IFS platform to twist and articulate rather than see- saw. Many lift coils are just stiff standard ones stretched out a bit
If you lift the front using aftermarket arms, the advantage is increased droop travel (increased off road ability), safe bumpstop & balljoint angles, easy alignment.

Both will raise center of gravity, body lift probly less so because the 'true' COG remains the same.
On-road handling will be affected by either.. the general rule of thumb is that any modification which increases a vehicles off-road ability will probably compromise on road comfort/handling.
