Hi Guys

I Have A 91 Ln106 with a very sad suspension Sag

I Have went out and imported from tough dog Australia a lift kit

New Front and Rear Leafs with a 2inch lift and Winch compatible Fronts for when that day comes.

Pins, Shackles,U bolts, Bushes , new Foam cell Struts,Adjustable diff loactor

Also Got a New LSD Reaf Diff as mine is whining
and also a Universal Kit.

I Imported from Auzz , I paid 1750 AUD with the conversion and the gst and duty , it was still only 2300 odd I saved around $400 Buying here in NZ.

I also Have Got a Custom Towbar made up and Have a complete wellside and canopy getting ready to go on , as currently have a very bad looking hydrolic Tail lift.

I Think all i need to get is Extendable break lines..

Questions..

Can anyone forsee some additional needs ?

Do i need to extend the front and rear break lines ?

Bearing in mind i also wan to do a 2 inch body lift..

Do i 2 inch body lift on top of the 2 inch suspension lift or do i go with a two inch shackle lift ?

Is that legal in nz with a cert ?
How many litres diff oil do i need to refill diff ?

Pretty sure just undo axel bolts at trye end and there are to clips in diff casing to slide axel out then i can replace diff head ?

Anything should be careful of not doing during that process ?
Are the rear lights and indercator wire easy to run on the new wellside ?

are there special bolts i need for the body lift mounts ?

will stearing stuff be ok with 4 inch lift ?

can i run 35s with a 4 inch lift ?

how much to cert the lift ?

Sorry to be so 'direct', but can I just be clear- you're gloating on how you saved yourself $400 by supporting a foreign enterprise, denying business for local vendors and taking money out of the local economy, and Now you're expecting those very same people to help you with your 12 questions??

Is that whats happening or am I missing something?

I can foresee the additional need to cough up for a factory service manual from some of that 400 skrilla you saved yourself

For a 2inch lift you should be alirght, try it and see

Again try it with the suspenision lift and see if you can squeeze a extra two inchs out of it. People doing RUF dont need extened lines they just move the bracket

Yes 8.8 grade bolts and lock nuts, and 50mm longer

Final bit of advice if you were planning on running 35's you would of been much better saving you pennies and going to see tom and getting RUF done and somethng done with the rears, you would get much better flex and stronger steering setup with high steer conversion. And wouldnt of cost you much more than what you spent on that.

I could deffinatly answer all of these questions with ease and there are a few problems your going to encounter but being a Tough dog dealer i would suggest you ring the Australian company you purchased them off ,
You may save $400 but do remember if you want to claim warantee you will have to send it back to australia now $$$$$$

Hey mate. Sounds like you got a good deal, and sounds like you have a pretty good idea of what you want.....4" lift running 35s and legal right?.

Dont be put off asking to many questions, if you are asking it then there will be 10 others that are wanting to ask the same question. Not sure of you back ground with off roading but if you're just starting out it would be better to take things slowly, learn what you can and cant do and then you will know what you need to add/mod. If you just wanting a cool looking truck then hell yeah 2" sus and 2" BL will be sweet with 35s (or lower it on 22" chromes )

Start with 2" in lift kit and run with that for a few months. adding shackles on top of that will change things allot so if you happy with how it behaves on/off road then go with 2" BL. There will be heaps of info on here about extended shackles so do a good search later on if you still want to go that way. from memory most people here were not too fond of them. You won't have any major issues with 2" lift but you might need to do some research on caster correction, I dont know enough on the topic to help you with that.

running 35s is a huge step up and probably not necessary on a hilux but that again is personal preference. It will put strain on allot of running gear and make it harder to drive.

Cert is $500+. Make sure you have everything done befor taking it, tires,winch, bar work, etc. you would probably get away with no cert with just the 2" sus lift, but get it checked out to make sure its safe if you are unsure.

each truck is different, so brake lines, steering, drive, might differ slightly between similar trucks. you will only really know once you start changing things. So again do one thing at a time and you will work out pretty quickly what is needed.

Ask around here when you next need parts. from what i've seen you dont need to go off shore to get good deals (some exceptions), the guys here know where to go and who to ask, sometimes even better to go into a store and bug the guys there for deals (or send the Mrs in for an even better price)
