3.5 mitsi smoker

Post by Whanga4x4 »

I have a 98 challenger with the 3.5l v6 which seems to run well on 98 octane, however when we are out track hunting, after prolonged low speed running it starts smoking like a poker player. Anyone got any ideas on how best to look after these engines and what I can do to stop the smoking problem?

Valve stem seals, they all do it eventually.

any mitsi I've had has drank oil and had noisy lifters,
I have gone to 15w50 on both suspects and it cured both problems on both,
it would seem the factory recommended shit is just too thin for a worn engine.

Or it could just need some maintenance as above ^
problems are only a problem if you not willing to learn how to find solutions
