Hi all, i have a 89 petrol 5 door patrol that im selling and looking to up grade, have been looking closely at around the 99-02 year petrol patrols, just wonderind what they are like to run, how strong the engins are and if there is anything else that needs to be looked out for on them. i dont do alot of kms and do realise they are hungry, but what sort of liters to the hundred do you get.
any info would be great, cheers 8)

from what I researched when I was looking at one (didnt end up getting it). Dont bother with the 4.5lt get the 4.8lt (bonus also has the biggest brakes) expect around 15-20lts per 100 depending on tires/lift/roof rack etc

4.8 is a popular engine in the crazy sand hill climbs in UAE.

I've got a 99, 4.5 petrol for sale if your interested, flick me a PM... Its a great truck - thirsty like you say, but plenty of power. Gets around 550kms to a tank on the open road. Good strong motor though - and with full leather, its very comfortable!
