Difference between import Ln106 hilux and nz new

Post by trucked »

Hi guys,

I have been searching and trying to find out what the differences are between the import and nz new ln106 hilux.

So far on the list is:
1. Intake manifold smaller on import (therefore less power on import motor)
2. Exhaust manifold possibly different (can anyone confirm this?)
3. Rear seatbelts are lap not over shoulder on import
4. carpet in import vinyl in nz new

Is there anything else anyone can add to this or clarify?

1/4 windows on front doors on NZ new

Some jap had extra's as well, our jap 1988 LN106 2.8 had air con. Also they had intermittent wipers from day 1 when the NZ ones didn't.

And on that note, I am still looking for a single cab ln106 hilux door, prefer jap import but not fussy, or even any parts of the door or even a 2 door surf door.

Mainly cosmetic stuff, my import single cab has sunroof, air-con, bucket seats
No 1/4 windows etc. Some of the later ones had electric rear diff lock option too.
Softroader VW Amarok nowadays....

I have a NZ new DC LN106 and im pretty sure it has 4.3 diffs
NZ new ones have twin latches on the tailgates instead of a centre handle
Im also told that NZ new ones have a bench seat front seat aswell but mine doesnt so im guessing its been changed.
Also different dash cluster. Imports have oil pressure and volt meter where as NZ new doesnt.
