Hi

i have just pulled out my manual box to fix an oil leak that i have been meaning to do for ages, had to split the gearbox to sort it and have put it back together and seems to hold oil ok

i have refitted it back in the vehicle and i can select every gear, including reverse, but it will no go into 5th gear with the engine running or with it off

what i need to know is there an easy way to fix this or do i have to remove the box again? any help will be greatly appreciated as the wife doesnt like driving my car!!

it could be the nylon cover at the end of the gear stick.
i have had that happen to me not that long ago, you can do all that from the inside i think.
well you can with a Toyota anyway.
